Best Gin for a Tom Collins?

i've recently developed an affinity for the tom collins cocktail, and i was wondering what is the best gin to make it with (on a normal 9-5 man's budget) i won't say what kind of gin i use just in case it doesn't get better than this thank you and the sooner i find out the sooner i'll be able to unwind with a perfect cocktail courtesy of your input
