I just want to know if you buy headphones at any shop does it make a difference?

I know I sound stupid but I wanted to know if it made a difference what shop you buy your headphones at. I want to buy gummy headphones and i saw them at my local convenience store. I want to buy them but I thought they might be bad quality compared to ones at a shop like argos. Will the quality be affected if you buy your headphones at a cheap shop.
