What do I need to do?

I really like this guy... and a little less then a week ago he texted me and told me he liked me too... then asked if we should talk first or just date. I said lets talk a little first. after a couple days, we started dating on saturday night. we both really like(d) each other, he even said that. and this morning (wednesday) he texted me while i was at volleyball practice and said i dont think this is gonna work out. I told him we havent even dated a week... he said ya i know.... i said well if your gonna break up with me now, why did you even ask me out...? he hasnt texted back and its wednesday night and he always has his phone on him. we have dated before and it hasnt worked out before either. but that was with the pressure of school. its summer now and i really thought it would be different. im listening to love songs about to ball my eyes out and we werent even serious. I dont know what to do.
